The design education of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music
consistently aims for harmony between "purpose" and "beauty" with an extensive view.
This pursuit is related to the history of form within Japanese culture.
This exhibition intends to look into the future of design
through verifying traditional art and craft as the origin of Japanese design,
modern design on the background of mass production and consumption,
and design of today restructed by digital technology.
