Exhibition Outline

This exhibition is an international textile exchange exhibition between faculty members and students established in 2014 with the aim of art, culture and academic exchange between the Department of Dyeing and Textiles, Department of Crafts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, and the Department of Fiber Art, Department of Crafts and Fine Arts, School of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, China. The first was held at the Tsinghua University Art Museum, and the second was held in 2017 at the Tokyo University of the Arts Art Museum. In 2020, in addition to the Department of Crafts and Fine Arts, School of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, the Department of Dyeing, Textile, and Clothing Art and Design also participated, which was the third exhibition, but in light of the spread of infectious diseases, the on-site exchange was canceled and an online lecture was attempted. In response to the policy of deregulation, the exhibition will be held at the Tokyo University of the Arts Museum of Art for the first time in seven years in the form of an exhibition of innovative and creative works using new textile materials and methods of expression, and a symposium on the theme of "traditional dyeing and weaving techniques and modern diversity" by each country.
