This exhibition commemorates the retirement of Yasunori Tanioka, who taught at the Metal Casting Department of the Department of Crafts at Tokyo University of the Arts.
He approaches metal casting from a new perspective, reconsidering the phenomena that arise from metal poured into molds and expressing this as art. Among the materials handled in craft, I feel nature's unwavering power through the casting of metal, and the core of my work lies in the forms created by overlaying the chance occurrences that happen in the actual natural world with the those born in the process of making artwork.
We hope you will enjoy the minimalist worldview that exists there.
