Architect Makoto Motokura has presented many works in the fields of space, architecture, and urbanism. His architectural ideas and interests stem from observing people's behaviors and then translating that information into forms and spaces. It expands from house to apartment complexes and urban architecture, and ultimately broadens into the concept of " collective living." In his representative works, the Ryujabira apartment Complex and the Asahi Town Eco-Museum Core Center "Soyu-kan," we can experience the refined yet playful architectural spaces characteristic of Makoto Motokura. Additionally, he conducted teaching and research as a professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts and the Tohoku University of Art and Design. He made proposals for future cities and architecture together with his students in local communities. Furthermore, at the Tokyo University of the Arts, he is involved in campus planning.
